I tried two location, in both times I had something wrong with my meal. Grand Burrito had extra salted steak. And in the other time, my salad had a strang taste and odor in either Avacodo or sour cream. They dont mix and match item in kids meals which they did not like. I will not go back there.

Definitely needs more stars! This place was fantastic! Dollar taco Tuesday and Wednesday including super huge margaritas! Our group of five had a fantastic time! Great food great atmosphere!

Quite possibly the worst Mexican food in Tampa, and that's saying a lot, since bad Mex is the rule here. Nothing was hot, everything was a cheesy, greasy mess. Salsa and chips were meh. I think people go here for the giant drinks. Los Vallarta is only a couple of miles from home, but I'd far rather make the drive to San Antonio and visit Pancho's Villa. Far superior in every way. Heck, I'd drive right by this place and go across the street to Taco Bell!

Typical Americanized Mexican slop. I'm sure you know the drill: Huge, ridiculous menu. JUMBO margaritas. Tacos y burritos that all taste/look just like the enchiladas y chimichangas. Dry, barfy rice. The service was great though for our large party -- the only reason Los Vallartas is getting 2 stars instead of 1. Foolishly (very, very foolishly) I ordered Chicken Mole. WHY on Earth would I order this dish at a place like this? It was horrific. Lesson learned. Next time, I'll just get a table fulla margs!

Love Vallartas, the chimichanga is fantastic and if you get here for lunch it's only $6!!! The food is typical for Mexican in this area but always consistent with great service.

If you're looking for quick, decent, consistent Mexican food at a great price in the Wesley Chapel area this place is for you. It's outstanding for kids as they get you seated quickly, the price is cheap and provide a large menu for everyone. They're also very tolerant to high noise levels and flying food as you'll see as they zoom through constantly with the portable vacuum cleaner. If you don't have kids and are looking for a quiet relaxing dinner however, this isn't your place. One thing I can guarantee though is that you won't leave hungry as they give you large portions in food and drink, no matter what you order. I'm grading it a 3.5 as there are definitely positives and negatives to Vallarta's which balance each other out but the great prices give it an edge. Enjoy and have fun!

Best margaritas, great for lunch or dinner. I take all my out of town guests here, just an excuse to get some great Mexican food. Cheese dip is to die for.

Food ok, service today was terrible. Waiter loved to play on iphone. Had to get up and ask for my check. He was lost in his phone.

My family's favorite Mexican place in the area! Prompt service, great food, and delicious chips. We have never had a bad experience here and definitely place it above any Mexican chains in the area.

I like Mexican food, but a lot of it tastes pretty consistent from restaurant to restaurant. With that being said, this place stood apart for me as I had some really good meals here. In the interest of full disclosure, my wife and I also had some of their enormous margaritas ($5 special I believe if you make it before 7pm)... after one or two of those, anything will taste good. Seriously, the food is very good. Chips were always fresh, salsa was good consistency, just the right amount of cheese on their dishes. I can't remember exactly what it was, but they had some item on the dessert menu which was excellent... like deep fried churros maybe with honey drizzled on the top. Less than ideal location for most Tampans as it's located in a strip mall just off of 75 way up in Wesley Chapel. On the negative side, my wife and I remember a very distinct smell of potpourri... I believe we ended up tracing it back to a few of the plug in type air fresheners that they had throughout the restaurant. VERY overwhelming. But again, the margarita will help numb that problem.

Stay Away! This place is filthy and smells. I know many people comPlain of tummy aches after eating here!

Very good Mexican food, excellent service, never had to wait. The kids menu has good Mexican basics as well as a few American classics (burger, dog, chicken fingers, fries). For my fellow big folk, the tables have large, padded seats, and the booth tables aren't fixed, so you can put the skinnies on one side and adjust the table. Ask for a VIP card and you will get discounts on future visits!

we had a worst experience ever with this restaurant, service was poor all the way. Food does not taste good, and the cleanliness is the worst parts, all the silverware and plates are dirty ; we had to ask them to get them cleaned and the taste of the food is bland. the chairs are uncomfortable and the service is very very very poor. avoid this restaurant if you can.

We went there last night because it was close. We all loved it. Fast service. My husband who is Mexican even loved it and he is had to please. I loved the decor! Great food with great prices who could ask for anything more

The best part of this place is free chips and salsa and an amazing happy hour. Two for one margaritas that will knock your socks off. The food is ok, but def not fresh-mex, more like cover it all in cheese and after a few drinks its not so bad. A fun place for a drink and a cheap dinner.

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this strip mall Mexican. Portions are generous, drinks are good, food is interesting and well seasoned. We had a fine time, and thought value for dollar was high. We generally agree with most other positive reviewers.

I wish they would make a new classification of restaurant, American-Mexican, because that is exactly what you have here. If your looking for giant, average margaritas at a fair price( I went during happy hour not sure on regular prices), average Tacos, pretty good chips and salsa, a menu that you need two people to hold, and literally nothing that is authentic Mexican look no further because it is all right here. I went with a large group of people and after a sluggish and hectic start with our server he turned it around and gave some very quality service. As for the food I ordered the Taquitos thinking they would be homemade, and i was not surprised when they looked like the same exact thing you can find in the freezer section at Publix. The Rest of the dish was pretty below average. Others in my group had better luck than ordering than me, except for my cousin who ordered the Mole, big mistake as it was absolutely disgusting. Many in the group were happy with the chimichangas and large burritos. I think next time i may have to order the King Kong margarita before I eat

I am starting to think I'm the only one who hated it here. The rice tastes like tomato boullion cubes where used in it and nothing else....makes me miss the Mission District in SF....thumbs down

Good Mexican food served quickly at a very good price. Selections lean towards traditional Mexican rather than Tex-Mex. The atmosphere is tacky, bright and family oriented. Not an ideal location for a romantic date, but great for lunch or family outings. Steer clear of fajitas or other Tex-Mex staples and stick with the basics, this is where they shine.

I love this restaurant! They have traditional Mexican foods served at great prices. Great for group lunches or casual dinners. Authentic food with a low price tag.

Had Poblano pepper the cheese they used was processed cheese. Very tasteless. Then they decided to vacuum right next to our table. Not a a very clean place either. Dishes looked stained and dirty. Would not go back.

This was my first visit thanks to my good friend Amy who lives locally in Wesley Chapel. After the long awaited wait of my first visit, I can honestly say that I'm disappointed in myself for not trying this place sooner. Vallarta's has three or four locations in the area but not a chain. I can tell that the owners are prideful in their restaurant. Located in a shopping center, this location has ample parking. The restaurant has a really cute Mexican decor with hand painted chairs and cultural paintings and decorate well as paper star lanterns. It has a really cozy feel to it, very comfortable. It also has great drink specials during the week from 2-7pm, with specials on margaritas. I went to Vallartas after a shopping excursion around 3pm. The complementary chips came out warm and and salsa appeared to be very fresh. I also had the 2 for 1 margaritas and they were delicious. I ordered two tacos off the special which were $1 each and you could get both soft and hard tacos. I had both soft chicken and beef tacos. The tacos came dressed with lettuce and tomato and queso and they accommodated my request for no cheese. The tacos were quite flavorful and were a nice accompaniment to the margaritas. The bartender was very attentive and friendly which was nice. I definitely will visit Vallartas again as I had an excellent experience. Vallartas is an excellent value!

I went here earlier today (Friday) afternoon in search of a lunch special. When I walked in there was a guy sitting at the cash register doing nothing except looking around. So I don't know why it took him a couple of seconds to finally acknowledge my presence. The place was completely empty except one guy sitting at a table nearby. I asked Standoffish Cash Register Guy if they have any lunch specials. He says they don't have lunch specials on Fridays. I ask him for a paper menu, then leave. I look at the paper menu and see where it says lunch specials are available Monday - Saturday. So now after reading other bad reviews about people getting ignored at this place, I decided to give it one star. I'll consider changing it once I find out for sure whether or not the guy was lying about no lunch specials on Fridays.

Vallarta's is one of my favorite places to stop for happy hour! From 2-7 they have 2 for 1 margaritas and 32 ounce beers for $5. Their margaritas are amazing!!! Very strong and tasty. Tuesday and Wednesday you can get $1 soft or hard tacos. They also have the $4 speedy Gonzalez lunch which consists of a taco, enchilada and choice of rice or beans. The rest of the menu is also very affordable with entrees averaging around $7. They give you free chips and salsa when you arrive. The staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is a breeze and the location is in a strip mall. There isn't any outdoor seating but the indoor seating is plentiful. I love bringing my friends here. Ive never been disappointed. The food and drinks are delicious and affordable

Low expectations Were met by dollar tacos Save it for homeless If there is any word to describe this place it is "underwhelmed". I mean, they have $1 tacos, and a decent happy hour. But I can make it better on my own. Other than that, the decor is bright, the service was fast, the table smelled overly clean. Lame-O mexican food. I won't be returning.

I can't believe what I'm seeing.. 2.5 stars? Really? Maybe it's just because I'm a poor, recent college grad.. but I love Los Vallarta! Can you even beat dollar tacos!? They offer shredded beef or chicken, which come with peppers, onions, lettuce, and shredded cheese. Another option is ground beef with lettuce and cheese. If tacos aren't your thing, I recommend the grilled chicken & bacon quesadilla. Complimentary chips and salsa are provided upon being seated. The salsa is homemade, so sometimes it tends to be spicier than others. The queso is also a fantastic starter. Happy Hour is offered from 2:00-7:00pm on the regular margaritas, domestic drafts, and wines. There is also a ladies night special for $3 lime margs (I believe it is offered Monday and Thursday). As for dessert? Churros! They come with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Absolutely delicious. I've never tried the fried ice cream for Vallartas, but if it's anything like others I've had then it's next on my list! The staff is always attentive. My glass never empties and when the chips and salsa run out, they always hurry to refill them. This is the perfect stop for a quick lunch or cheap dinner.

Went in for lunch and was promptly seated by the bar. Took a few minutes to get greeted which is fine but when greeted we were stunned at attitude we received. Thinking maybe we misread him we waited for our drinks. We then we're asked are you ready. We said we needed a minute in which he rolled his eyes and walked away. We asked for a bowl for salsa which again you would think I asked for free margaritas as his attitude only got worse. Every other server was smiling and seemed to be fine. Both me and my girlfriend have worked and work in service industry and it takes a lot to get us past unforgiving. However we decided to leave because he was really treating us like we came in 2 minutes to close and wanted to camp. We ended up drivi ng 20 minutes to a different location which was 1000 times better.

The 2.5 stars made me a little concerned about coming here. But my wife and I were Mexicans in another lifetime. We were hungry and Cody's was packed with a half hour wait. We were far from our home base, so I whipped out my trusty Yelp app. It told me this place was just down the road, but the reviews were not encouraging. But we came anyway. We ordered the house guacamole and a side of refried beans, like we usually do in Mexican restaurants to accompany the chips and salsa. The house guac was AWESOME! Check out my picture. It was more an avocado salad than guacamole. The avocado was cut in pieces, not smashed. And I loved every bite. The refried beans were tasty. We ordered them without cheese, because that's how we roll. We were feeling adventurous, and there was an ad for "La Parrillada" on the bottom of the menu. It's like fajitas on steroids with steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo. It was OUTSTANDING! All the meats were mixed together and the chorizo gave this plate a very zesty kick. You gotta try it. Service was good. My diet Coke was always filled, food came out fast and with good presentation. I cannot speak to what the other reviewers experienced, and this is just my experience this one time. All I can say is that I enjoyed the experience, the food was good, and even though this is out of my way, I'm coming back. I cannot pay a restaurant a higher compliment. YMMV.

At first glance, I thought the Los Vallarta restaurant seemed a little out of place in the strip mall that sold appliances, home repair and home decor. But walking inside and its a lively restaurant with a bar/dining area somewhat separated with a middle waiting type section. The overall indoor decor seemed a bit tacky or overdone, though none of it bothered me. The appeal of the restaurant I think is really around the value and the quantity of food that comes with your meal. Some of the other reviews seem to center around the service, but I thought the service was adequate and cordial. The free chips and salsa are a nice bonus. The portions are large and you will not leave this place hungry, in fact, most likely you will be taking some food home. I say be willing to try any and all the dishes, I've been here only a few times (each time trying something new) and its always been good. There is definitely a stark contrast with another Mexican restaurant near by at Wiregrass mall, but the vibe here is much more casual and enjoyable.

This was our first time here and we had a great experience! The service was fast and friendly, everything came out piping hot, expect large portions, half of dinner will be tomorrow's lunch:) we will back for more!! Did I mention the happy hour every day 3-7pm, margaritas were excellent. There were a lot of people coming in which is always a good sign. We tried the Fried Ice Cream and Churroz and it was to die for, don't miss out!!!

The dollar tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and my friends and I were sold. I've tried the chicken three times, twice in a taco and a third time in a salad bowl there and they've always tasted off and made my stomach churn.. I've then decided to stick with bean tacos! Delicious! With the chips and salsa to start off with at first it definitely fills you up a little. The waiters are always very friendly! My usual order is one bean taco and the cheese dip. I then dip my chips into the salsa and cheese dip, yumm. (: Ordering two bean tacos is over kill for me, I would have to roll out of the restaurant. Although it doesn't seem like much food, it sure fills me up! Once there was a mix-up with to-go orders on a Tuesday. We ordered three bean tacos which should of been roughly $3 but ended up being $10, the people picking up the food didn't realize it until they arrived back home. They felt cheated! The girl who works the register tends to tidy up the area and vacuum the floors, which is completely fine - but while I'm eating? It would be right near our table and under as well, where our feet were. Could you wait for us to finish please? But to wrap it up, the food is good, the service is good, the drinks are good.

I have always loved this place, the food is excellent, but they do not have a computer system to tally up customer's checks. They are using calculators, and now for the second time in a row, my husband and I were over charged more than $10. When I called them out on it, they apologized, and said they must have forgotten to clear out the calculator. It's a shame because my husband doesn't want to go back now! Beware! Calculate your own check for accuracy!

The food was good however worst service I have ever had in my life period. We ordered the servers recommendation which was Molcajette which was $19.00 (not worth it) and 45 minutes later still no food. Only filled our drinks one time. Finally when the server did come back he gave us 1 tortilla when we the actual food is suppose to serve 2 people. When I asked for one more they charged me $2.00. I noticed this on the bill. I asked them kindly if they could waive the charge since he never told me that they cost extra and that we only got one. He insisted he brought us more than one but said he would get with his manager to get it removed. He then brought the check back without saying anything and set it down and left. The tortilla was still on the bill. I paid it but haven't been back since. Terrible experience overall, have not been since and will never go again.

We are regulars here during the lunch hour. Several waiters know two of us so well that they comfirm our order by heart. They keep the chips and salsa flowing. Several of us love the #5, burrito, taco and rice. Prices are excllent during lunch.

Consistently awesome and reasonable prices. The carnitas tacos are especially delicious.

  • Prof J.

Not bad. I had the la ultima. Mexican food is usually ALWAYS filling with the side of beans and rice. Everything came out hot, however, since we came in before it closed, we felt rushed for the service. It wasn't bad for a party of 13 though. I wish they had horchatas and fresh juice...and they didn't even have jarritos. What mexican restaurant doesn't have those? apparently this one. that's why it's a solid 3. Overall i had better.

  • John W.

Food is ok, but rude customer service! I paid $27 for tacos, etc, and they forgot some of my food. When I called to let them know, young lady on the phone acted like it was my fault and gave me attitude and I felt rushed! Last time I go there, PLENTY of other "Mexican style" restaurants to go to!!...

My whole family was throwing up all night after eating fajitas here !!! It is a dirty restaurant and we will NOT be going back. Two days later, my mother's coworker was also was very ill after eating here. I hope the Department of Health busts them before more people get sick.

  • Karen R.

Used to be good, but food quality and cleanliness of this location has definitely taken a turn for the worse over the last few years. My last visit I had the enchilada and taco combo. It didn't taste bad, but it was nothing special. My dinner date had the burrito and taco combo. We both had a margarita and the complimentary chips and salsa. A couple hours later, we both developed severe stomach pains and cramping. We ended up spending the remainder of the day and all night in the bathroom. Good thing there are 3 bathrooms in my house. Blech! I won't be back.

I have been dining at Los Vallartas for years all over the Tampa bay area. The food is good, but the reason I can only rate it 3 stars is because it can be hit or miss with everything there. The salsa is always changing but I still love it. The staff is mediocre- we were just here the other day and were trying to make jokes and talk with our server and he would just walk away- who knows maybe it was a language barrier, lol. My favorite thing on the menu and what I can't seem to get away from is the burrito guadalajara. 2 burritos 1 beef 1 chicken with white queso, and refried beans. YUM! Oh and we can't forget those jumbo margaritas- once again hit or miss, many times they have too much mix or are watered down. But when the food is good the FOOD IS GOOD, and that is why I continue to come back!

  • Yesenia J.

I really wish I could give negative stars on this one. The service was beyond reprehensible. On two occasions (today being the second) wait-staff has openly ignored our table. We sat waiting for drink orders, at least water, that we're never taken. Two waiters and three waitresses walk past us each at least twice each and no one asked if we wanted beverages let alone offered to take our food order. The last straw was when a table was sat behind us and before the last person had settled in their drink order was being taken. We were so upset we walked out. We will NEVER return to this place again and we will be sure to tell everyone we know how badly we've been treated.

  • Kerri M.

Not a fan. We are new to the area and wanted to check out various restaurants. Vallarta's was one of the first. The service was good and we didn't gave much of a wait on a Saturday evening. But the food was terrible. Everything tasted like it was either frozen or out if a can. No flavor/mushy. Could not finish my meal. Will not be going back.

I have to say that my family and I usually enjoy this restaurant especially the margaritas but tonight I have decided that I will not come back as regular as I have been. The menu changed as well as the way they make margaritas horrible

We found this place as it was recommended to us by Toyota while we were having our car serviced, and we are glad we tried it. We love their lunch specials, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Last time we are there we got tacos and a lunch special, as well as a beer, for just 15 bucks. Only downside is they don't have horchata, but otherwise we will be back!

  • Brittany H.

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and I just recently moved to DC and I compare every Mexican restaurant I eat at to this place. Every visit home, I will stop by for some delicious chips and salsa. I order the bean burrito with queso dip and red sauce, to die for it's not on the menu, but it's pretty darn delicious.

  • Lulu B.

I had some combo of taco, chile relleno, and maybe something else. The egg of the chile relleno was substantially undercooked, and I never actually found the pepper in there. There seemed to be some meat sauce gravy upon it. I didn't recognize anything on my plate. The taco sat upon the rest of the slop, making it soggy, and only at the end of the meal, did I realize that I had all my sour cream, lettuce, and tomato fixings on a side plate that I didn't know was mine. The waiters couldn't handle a large party. The place was sticky. One of my friends had an argument over the meat that she was given. Was it steak or pork? She asked for one and was given the other and the waiter tried to convince her otherwise. NEVER GOING BACK!!!

  • Spence R.

Salsa is gross today. Food was super slow. Corn tortillas were smelly. Table was dirty. Dishes were dirty. They got our order wrong. Chips tasted old. Enchilada sauce was gross. I usually love Vallartas but this place isn't up to par. We have had bad experiences at this Vallartas several times now. The cheese enchiladas often aren't melted. Our server was really slow and not all that friendly. There is one guy here who is super friendly, I guess they have that going for them.

    1. It's expensive for Mexican food 2. The beef/steak that comes in the burritos has a terrible taste to it. 3. The ground beef is just the terrible tasting beef/steak mentioned above... Just cut up into smaller bits. 4. The Caso dip I ordered was solid. It needed to be sent back to get heated up to eat. I really don't like adding a bad review for a place but this was the second time I went there and nothing had changed. There's a reason why they don't even get 4 stars. I'm sorry again for leaving this as a review, but I hope it helps you recognize your areas in need of improvement. God bless!

Good service. Food terrible. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to. I ordered one of the steak dishes. I ordered it medium, and it came out well done hard as a card board. Chips and salsa was good so 2 stars.

  • Kristen M.

My kids and I had lunch here today. It wasn't super busy but the service was prompt. It seems a little pricey compared to other Mexican fare in the area. But the "side orders" portion of the menu was a reasonable way to have a light lunch at a low price. The kids each had a Taco and I had the Mexican Hamburger. Coupled with the complimentary chips and salsa we all left full and I paid a fair price. The food was really yummy too. I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and I am never disappointed. :)

I ordered the #7 combo. Chili relleno, cheese encilada, rice and beans. The chili relleno was hidden under so much cheese that I didn't notice there was only TWO BITES! Two! The rest was cheeeeese. When I looked closer, I noticed they even mixed a little bit of beans with the cheese to cover the fact the chili wasn't the right kind of chili to use in a relleno. And, that the chili was maybe 2 inches by 1 inch!!! So, being with new friends and not wanting to cause a scene by sending my plate back to the kitchen, I quietly moved on to the cheese enchilada. It was COVERED with cheap cheese. So, I dug around for it. It was so small, and the tortilla it was wrapped in was so thin and cheap, it was gone in 3 small bites. I dug and dug in the pile of greasy cheese and never found anymore shell. Soooo.....I moved on to the rice and beans, left a half a plate of greasy cheese, and went back to conversation with our new friends. I grew up in So California where Mexican food is on every corner. I've had Mexican food from the best. Actually, the best I've ever had was recently in Belmont, Mississippi!! Go figure. But, this place is deceiving customers by charging $9.00 for a pile of greasy cheese, some beans, with a little rice. They disquise the fact they aren't giving you good food....or the food you ordered for that matter by slapping crap over the top of it. The cheese hardened up right away..uck. That being said, I noticed the others at our table ordered the carne asada and a shrimp dish. They didn't have melted cheese all over their dishes. So, I started watching the other dishes coming to the tables around us. Most of them knew the secret!! Don't order ANYTHING they can hide with melted cheese! BTW, who puts mounds of melted cheese over a cheese enchilada!? It should've been covered with enchilada sauce, which it wasn't. The guys said margaritas were good. By the way, the waitress hardly came back to check on us and never asked us if the food was good. She knows better. I want to say I won't go back. However, if our friends want to go again, I'll go. I'll be very cautious with what I order.

One of my favorite places to go for dinner/lunch in the area! I've lived in Wesley Chapel for 9 years, and in Tampa for 5 years prior. I had visited the Los Vallarta restaurant in Temple Terrace on 56th street and it was okay, but this location is much much better. Yes, the decor is tacky, but I'd go here again and again. In fact, every time my mother comes into town, this is where she wants to go. The service is usually great, it is family-owned and you see a lot of the same faces there over time, which is always a good sign. They bring you chips and delicious salsa right away, and you can't beat the value on their huge margaritas. The menu is pretty large, with something for everyone (even burgers for the kids!). The queso is a staple, order it to go along with your chips and salsa. They are really great at accommodating menu any changes (I regularly substitute shredded beef for ground beef in my tacos/burritos) and the service is quick. All of their quesadillas and fajitas are grilled up fresh with lots of veggies and meat. The guacomole is great, and their fried ice cream dessert is to die for. The kids LOVE it! Just a tip, they are much busier on Friday nights than any other night of the week. And it's a GREAT lunch location. I'd recommend this place again and again!

This restaurant is not fancy but the food is delicious, and the margaritas are yummy too. It's a great after work / family dinner outing, and when the mariachi band is there it's even better!

i really like the decor of the place. The menu was like a novel, so many things to choose from. While we were reading over the menu we order the chips and salsa and a side of guacamole. Salsa was like water and guacamole had no taste. Finally I made my mine up combo #11 burrito, taco and a enchirito. Everything taste the same. I never had a burrito with just flour and meat, if it was even meat at all it kinda taste like dog food. I guess you would say this was authentic Mexican food. I guess when I am in the mood for Mexican i will go to taco bell. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast.

This is not Mexican food. It's Tex Mex and not good Tex Mex at that. Our first visit was our last. The dining room was dirty. That should have been my first clue that we were in for serious unpleasantness. My son and I had tacos which tasted just like packet Old El Paso tacos you'd make at home and we both became ill the next day. It lingered for days. Do yourself and your stomach a favor and avoid this place.

No to the No. Service was eh, and food was bland. My enchiladas where like 2 second tossed together with barely any sauce or cheese, didn't event taste like enchiladas. There were a bunch of orders including a Molcajete, nachos, chicken fingers and fries, sopapillas and churros. all of it did not taste fresh or anything may just fresh from the freezer. There are just two varieties of margaritas lime and strawberry, that's it. but it tasted more like alcohol and less of anything else. yes, i know alcohol is good but a strawberry margarita is a strawberry margarita not a bottle of tequila.

This place gets really busy! It has somewhat cheesy decor, and reminds of a hole-in-the wall restaurant, but has solid Mexican food. Good chips and salsa, and the burrito was satisfying and flavorful. Friendly staff, and good drinks.

If you like cheap fake Mexican food and fake margaritas this is your place. It really is disappointing. If it gets good ratings it's only because there is not enough competition nearby. Hopefully that will change as wesley chapel continues to grow. They do get a star for cheap prices. After all, they do have to buy food to prepare from somewhere.

My go to place for an affordable great meal. I take my family of four for dinner for around $30! You simply can't beat that for the quality of food! They have the best fajitas as well as some excellent drink specials! The service I have received has always been excellent

I've been to a couple of the locations of this place in the Tampa area. It's okay, but nothing special. The decor is bright & colorful, which makes for a fun atmosphere. The food is extremely reasonably priced and Tuesday is Taco Night w/ super cheap tacos. Service is fine, but overall it's just so-so.

Love this place! Chimichanga is excellent as well as the fajitas, enough to bring home for another meal! It literally took 5 minutes from the time we ordered to the plate sitting in front of us, fast! Portions are huge, you will leave with a full belly! Lots of tv's for sport lovers and friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable for the large portions.

He said: Chow pretty good. I think she says it all... She said: The food here was good, but the staff was excellent. We left an item behind here on our way further south. The staff held it for us for several days until we passed back though. I give the food a 4-star rating, but upped it to 5 because they were so helpful!

I went to Los Vallarta on a Friday night to meet up with some friends. I really wasn't expecting anything. The place was slammed, so they must be doing something right. Los Vallarta is a "Mexican-Americanized" restaurant, much like any in the area. Nothing special or out of this world. Everything is mildly seasoned for "gringo" pallet's. The menu is huge, so you can basically have any combination, substitution, and variety. They bring chips and salsa to the table, which I love. It's such a simple thing to do. The restaurant was so busy I didn't even notice we had to wait a little bit to order, because of this small gesture. I also had the queso with my chips, guilty pleasure. My taco salad was good. The chicken was pulled, well seasoned, and juicy. My $5 margarita was decent. The beers are also huge and cheap! I really can't complain. Every thing was pretty much standard. Exactly what I expected. Inexpensive average Mexican-ish food. Take it for it is, keep your expectations where they belong, and you'll enjoy it.

This place gets only two stars since they actually serve somewhat authentic food, however the quality and service lately is VERY poor. Last time we were here my entire family got some form of food poisoning. We have been here before and it was pretty good. Not great, but I am spoiled with this cuisine after spending a few years in San Diego, where the quality of Mexican food is no match. Bottom line- be wary!

I was really torn between giving this review 2 or 3 stars. This has always been my favorite of the Vallarta's locations here in Tampa, the service here is definitely better than the other spots. The food is plentiful and they do offer 32 oz Margaritas. I usually order the Molcajete, a cauldron of shrimp, chicken, beef, mushrooms, onions, cheese....it's steaming hot goodness that you can wrap in a tortilla. The portion sizes are good and the cost is reasonable. It will fill your belly up, that's for sure. The food is not bad but not great. It is just good. And sometimes just good is enough.

YMMV.

Had Poblano pepper the cheese they used was processed cheese. Very tasteless. Then they decided to vacuum right next to our table. Not a a very clean place either. Dishes looked stained and dirty. Would not go back.

I tried two location, in both times I had something wrong with my meal. Grand Burrito had extra salted steak. And in the other time, my salad had a strang taste and odor in either Avacodo or sour cream. They dont mix and match item in kids meals which they did not like. I will not go back there.

God bless!

Good service. Food terrible. Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to. I ordered one of the steak dishes. I ordered it medium, and it came out well done hard as a card board. Chips and salsa was good so 2 stars.

Love Vallartas! Menu is huge and has vegetarian options too. Always receive great service from Jesus.

The food is typical for Mexican in this area but always consistent with great service.

we had a worst experience ever with this restaurant, service was poor all the way. Food does not taste good, and the cleanliness is the worst parts, all the silverware and plates are dirty ; we had to ask them to get them cleaned and the taste of the food is bland. the chairs are uncomfortable and the service is very very very poor. avoid this restaurant if you can.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
